How it works

REMBEX is a filtered search engine designed to allow visitors to find both bloggers in the real estate market they are interested in, and to find content from across the blogosphere with one search. REMBEX bridges the gap between the search engine on a single blogger's site and the more global search engines like Google Blog Search and Technorati.

While global search engines can be effective, they general do not differentiate between a blogger who's focused on this industry, and anyone with a blog, who mentions something about real estate or mortgages every once in a while. they also tend to yield results from sploggers and just about any web site that is using RSS feeds.

REMBEX harnesses Google's new Co-Op application to create a search engine that only crawls a hand selected number of web sites. To qualify for inclusion, the site must meet the following criteria:

1. It has to be a real Blog, written by a blogger. Sites that recycle news in a blog layout and splogs are not included.

2. The bog has to focus on Mortgages, Personal finance, or Real Estate.

3. The blog has to be somewhat established and current. Only blogs that Google is already crawling will show up in the search engine.
